Somehow, we found the little brother of Donguri Cup! He is a little bit smaller and cuter, and have no handle. It is too cute to exclude him from the family of Yamamru cups. So here you go!
LAST 3 in stock in 2020! Small-batch production. Mr. Kajiwara is now producing the next batch. Re-stock in January 2021.
"Donguri" means Acorn in Japanese. Each cup is hand-thrown by 14th generation Ceramist Mr. Kajiwara at Yamamaru kiln. The infamous signature "tobikanna" (chattering pattern) of Koishwara-ware was creatively applied to the lid to create the acorn motif when white slip is being scraped off. Koishiwara artisan takes pride in and respect local raw material, which plays an important part in nurturing this 350-year-old craft tradition.
This cup is perfect for a cortado or macchiato, also great for pudding, ice-cream, or the popular Japanese "chawan mushi" savory steamed egg custard.
* Specification may varies due to the nature of hand-made product. Each product is unique.
